Class Session 4
Topics
  • Review solutions to prior week's coding assignments
  • Defining Functions (Zelle 3e - Chapter 6)
  • Decision Structures (Zelle 3e - Chapter 7)
Required Readings
  • Zelle 3e - Chapter 6 (Defining Functions)
  • Zelle 3e - Chapter 7 (Decision Structures) PLEASE NOTE: Unfortunately, the main sample program in this chapter gets needlessly bogged down with math. If you are a math fan, then I suspect that you will enjoy the sample program and the chapter. Nevertheless, if you are not a math fan, please don't let the math in this chapter distract you. Note that the examples that I use in the "Beyond the Textbook" lecture are not as math-heavy. Also, remember that Severance Chapter 3 covers this same material without using such math-heavy examples.
