Online Dropin Session
On Monday evenings, I will be holding an Online Drop-In Session using the GoToMeeting platform. Students are invited to join us to discuss questions and issues concerning the class. This will serve as an opportunity to meet and start discussions with other students in the class. I expect this to be particularly useful during the early part of the semester when we are forming teams. Your experience will be best when you are using a headset. You may join the GoToMeeting session using this link.

  • Top Two Project Management Issues
Description: The readings from the Layton text for this week address the project management issues of scope, time, cost, risk, quality, team dynamics, communication, and procurement. Which two of these important issues do you think will have the biggest impact on your team's project? Why have you chosen these two rather than the others?

  • Team Formation - Staff (Step 3 of 4)
Description: In this third week of team-related activities, our goal is to pick a preliminary list of members for our team. Obviously, those students who find the project opportunity will be part of the project team. The objective is for us to find a home for everyone on some team. Staffing success will be reached when we have evenly sized teams (approximately 4 people), when team skills are well-matched with project needs, and when each team member can see a role for themselves that is appealing. While I prefer that teams self-staff, I am willing to intervene in the staffing process if necessary.
