  • View Lynda.com Course on Git
Description: This is an introductory course on version control and Git that I found particularly helpful. One feature that I especially like is that it uses the SourceTree Git client that I am recommending for your use.
  • Install Git Client on Your Computer
Description: You are free to use whatever Git client you want. I recommend that you use SourceTree. The Lynda.com course identified above gives fairly up-to-date instructions on installing and using the product. There is a link below to a page where you can get the software.
  • Set Up a BitBucket Account
Description: Using your UWM email id, set up a free BitBucket account. This account will allow you to create a repository that you can use for your own practice. I will be providing repositories for use by the class as a whole and project teams. Having created this BitBucket account with your UWM email address will make it easier for me to give you access to those repositories.
